Involvement
Involvement in a child’s life comes naturally to parents in the early years as they scramble to enthusiastically meet their infant’s basic needs. As the child grows and becomes more self-sufficient, parental involvement becomes more optional. Self-sufficiency, however, is not often accompanied by maturity or wise judgement. Therefore, parental involvement to provide direction and encouragement is needed to some degree until a child reaches adulthood.
