Consistency of Discipline

Are You Consistent in Your Parenting and Discipline?

While discipline is required for optimal child development, inconsistent discipline often leads a child to frustration and exasperation.  It is every parent’s temptation to correct a child when it is convenient.  The consistent parent, however, corrects regardless of the situation or setting.  In the short run, this approach is inconvenient, but in the long run it reduces misbehavior and builds character which leads less intervention and less interruption in a parent’s life.

Take the long view of parenting.  Remember, “You will reap what you sow.”

Invest now and enjoy the fruit of your child’s healthy character later.
